Last week, Ken Kyre attended a special meeting of Past Presidents of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys (“NCADA”). He was President of the NCADA from 2007 to 2008. He had also been on its Board of Directors from 2003 to 2005, and then he served another stint on the Board (Ex-Officio) from 2018 to 2020, and he was the Chair of the North Carolina Defense Fund (NCADA’s PAC) from 2009 to 2011. For a number of years he was the Editor of The Defender (NCADA’s former periodical publication). The NCADA will be celebrating its 50th year in 2027.

The NCADA is a professional organization that devotes a majority of its time representing the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. The Association is committed to enhancing the skills, effectiveness, and professionalism of civil trial lawyers, as well as anticipating and addressing issues germane to defense lawyers and the civil justice system.  NCADA members come from diverse backgrounds and practice areas, and they work for firms of all sizes, as well as for private corporations, municipalities, and government departments and agencies. The NCADA is a voice for defense counsel through its publications, dealings with the judiciary, public positions on matters of interest, and participation in a variety of events connected with the bench, the bar, and the business community.

Ken feels fortunate to have been involved with the NCADA for so many years, and it has enhanced his practice as a defense attorney.
